Investing in the bio-economy

FORMAS in Sweden has just announced a strategic call for funding for bio-based economy research and will provide 30 million SEK annually over a five year period. The intention is to support 6-10 transdisciplinary research environments. Support will be awarded in the form of framework grants of 3-5 million SEK per year for five years. This is fairly considerable funding, and supports the Swedish Research and Innovation Strategy for a Bio-based Economy developed by FORMAS, VINNOVA and the Swedish Energy Agency.
