Global overview of bio-economy visions and strategies

I will be part of a short project (3 months) to produce an overview that provides a comparative analysis of published strategies and visions for a shift from the current fossil-based economy to a bio-based economy, with a focus on the USA, EU, Finland, Sweden, Canada, Australia and Germany. The project will result in a paper and presentation that gives a clear and comprehensive overview. Some countries have adopted and published official strategies, while others seem to be in the process of doing so, whereas others are not currently working on such documents. Therefore, this overview will be relevant for researchers as well as industry and government. It is important to have a global perspective on the bio-economy and issues related to the decreased use of fossil based energy and products. The study will be helpful for future work in Sweden to meet its strategy to shift towards a bio-based economy.
