Courses, Programs and Schools on the Bio-economy

I recently came across three learning opportunities on the bio-economy. The first is a course on "Management in the Bio-economy". The aim of this course is to give an introduction in the fundamental concepts and techniques of management applied to the bio-economy which is the set of economic activities relating to the invention, development, production and use of biological products and processes. The second is a whole program on the bio-economy called "Masters in Management of Bio-economy, Innovation and Governance". This is described as an innovative and dynamic postgraduate qualification designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled people in the growing global bio-economy. Third, a summer school called the “Ghent Bio-based Economy”. After running the summer school in 2012 and 2013, both attracting over 50 participants from all over the world, the Ghent Bio-based Economy is launching its summer school for 2014 on the integration of green and white biotechnology. I firmly believe we will see more and more education and learning directed towards the bio-economy.
